the five stages

Discovery to handoff.

Every build, revamp, and migration follows the same rhythm. The work is shaped before any code is written, so we both agree on what "shipped" means.

stage · 01

Discovery.

A working session on goals, audience, and what exists today. We choose the design path with you here — a licensed premium theme or a custom design — and agree what is in scope.

stage · 02

Roadmap.

Content model, redirect plan, analytics goals, and a week-by-week timeline. You see the whole plan — and the price — before a build invoice.

stage · 03

Build.

Content becomes typed Sanity schemas; templates go up on Astro. Working preview URLs from week one, so you click through real pages as we go. No big-bang reveal.

stage · 04

Handoff.

A Sanity Studio walkthrough so your team can publish without us, plus the repo, the credentials, and a short runbook. You own all of it.

stage · 05

Care (optional).

If you want hosting, edits, and SEO upkeep off your plate, the monthly care plan picks up here. Recommended, never required — you can run the site entirely on your own.

your part

What we need from you.

We keep the lift on your side small and front-loaded. Four things move an engagement fast:

— 01

A decision-maker who can sign off at the discovery and roadmap stages.

— 02

Access to the current site, analytics, and domain/DNS (for migrations).

— 03

Brand assets — logo, fonts, colors — or the go-ahead to choose a licensed theme.

— 04

Timely content + feedback during the build week. The faster the reviews, the faster the launch.

frequently asked

The usual questions.

Four we get on most intro calls. If yours isn't here, ask it on the call.

How long does it take?

Three to five weeks for a typical marketing site, depending on scope and design path. Migrations and revamps are usually three to four; new builds three to five. We commit to a week-by-week timeline in the roadmap stage.

When is the design decided?

In discovery. The design path is the main cost and timeline lever: a licensed premium theme frontend is faster and lower cost; a custom design is bespoke and takes longer. The engineering layer underneath is the same either way.

How do payments work?

50% to start, 50% on launch for fixed-scope engagements. The optional care plan is billed monthly in advance and can be cancelled anytime.

What do I own at the end?

Everything. The site deploys to your hosting account, content lives in your Sanity project, and you hold every credential. The portable content adapter means you are never locked to one backend.
